BILL NUMBER:A8167B
Title of bill
An act to amend the education law, in relation to supplemental educational improvement plan grants
Purpose
This bill captures regional cost indexes in calculating supple- mental educational improvement plan grants.
Summary of provisions
This bill amends Section 3641 of education law.
Justification
Regional cost indexes were recently adopted under the State's new Foun- dation Aid formula for public education. Certain school districts, however, may also receive supplemental educational improvement plan grants, which are designed to provide additional State funds for the continuation of programs and services under a court ordered plan.
