BILL NUMBER:A8833

Title of bill

An act to amend chapter 616 of the laws of 1992, relating to authorizing the conveyance of state land in the city of Buffalo, to Women for Human Rights and Dignity Development Corporation Inc. for charitable purposes, in relation to authorizing the commissioner of general services to release a right of reverter in letters patent conveying certain land located in the city of Buffalo, county of Erie

Purpose

Authorizes the Commissioner of General Services in the City of Buffalo to release a right of reverter in letters patent conveying certain land

Summary of provisions

Section 1 amends chapter 616 of laws of 1992 to allow the commissioner of general services to cancel any condition or right of reverter upon the application by the successor in interest of the original grantee. Also provides for the commissioner to determine a payment of fair and equitable consideration.

Section 2 provides for specifications of the parcel of land as identi- fied as part of subdivision lot 12 in block "F" as shown on a map filed in the Erie County Clerk's Office under cover no. 254.

Justification

The original legislation was enacted to allow the City of Buffalo to convey land to Women for Human Rights and Dignity Development Corpo- ration Inc. for the purposes of expanding their operation. Since the initial conveyance the Women for Human Rights and Dignity Development Corporation Inc., has determined they no longer need to acquire this property and have requested that the right of conveyance be reversed.
