Sponsor's memo

Title of bill

An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to providing for the financing and construction of capital facilities for Mesivta Torah Vodaath Rabbinical Seminary

Purpose or general idea of bill

To enable the Dormitory Authority to determine funding eligibility for Mesivta Torah Vodaath Rabbinical Seminary in accordance with the Authority's financing guidelines and procedures.

Justification

In order to receive financing through the Dormitory Authority, Mesivta Torah Vodaath Rabbinical Seminary must be included in 1680 of the public authorities law as an organization eligible for such consideration. The enactment of this bill into law would not mean that the Authority will undertake financing on behalf of this institution, but will permit them to make application for such funding. Any such determination will be made by the Authority's board in accordance with the Authority's financing guidelines and procedures.
