Title of bill
An act to amend the tax law, in relation to the sales and compensating use tax imposed within the county of Erie
Purpose of the bill
To authorize Erie County to continue to impose an additional 0.75% county sales tax rate for an additional two years.
Summary of specific provisions
This bill amends Section 1210-D of the tax Law to authorize Erie County to impose an additional county sales tax rate of three-quarters of one percent for the period beginning December 1, 2009 and ending November 30, 2011.
Justification
Erie County has requested authorization to impose an additional three quarters of one percent sales and compensating use tax. Fiscal implications
None to the State. Approximately $60 million annually for Erie County.
Effective date
This act shall take effect immediately.
