Title of bill
An act in relation to granting tier 2 status in the New York state and local employees' retirement system to Noreen A. Porfirio
Purpose
This bill would grant retroactive Tier 2 status in the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System to Noreen A. Porfirio by deeming her to have been a member of such system on March 2, 1976.
Justification
To allow Noreen Porfirio to receive Tier 2 status in the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System. When Noreen Porfirio commenced employment with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance on March 2, 1976, she was not informed of her eligibility to join the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System. This bill would rectify this situation by changing Noreen Porfirio's date of membership with the Retirement System to March 2, 1976 with its associated Tier 2 status.
