An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to designating court attendants in the village of Port Chester as peace officers
Purpose or general idea of bill
To allow court attendants employed in the Port Chester Court to be legally designated as Peace Officers, to best deal with security in the busiest village/town court in the State of New York.

Section 2 establishes the effective date of the act.
Justification
The Port Chester Justice Court is the busiest village/town court in the state, and the volume of people that it serves necessitates significant security measures to insure the proper administration of justice.
