Title of bill
An act to amend the real property law, in relation to including modular homes in the definition of manufactured home parks
Purpose of bill
To include modular homes in the definition of "manufactured home park".
Summary of provisions
Section 1- Amends Paragraph 3 of subdivision a of section 233 of the real property law, as amended by chapter 566 of the laws of 1996.
Section 2- amends section 233 of the real property law by adding a new paragraph 6.
Section 3- contains the effective date.
Justification
This legislation will modify the definition of a manufactured home park according to Section 233 of the real property law. The current definition does not include "modular homes." These communities are similar to the physical characteristics of a manufactured home park but are omitted from the current definition due the way in which they are manufactured and assembled.
