Title of bill
An act to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a certain portion of the state highway system to be the "Cpl. Paulo Marko Pacifi- cador Memorial Bridge"
Purpose
This legislation designates the bridge on the William Floyd Parkway which crosses over State Route 27 as the "Cpl. Paulo Marko Pacificador Memorial Bridge".
Summary of provisions
Amends the highway law by adding a new Section 343-x designating a portion of state highway system as "Cpl. Paulo Marko Pacificador Memori- al Bridge".
Justification
Corporal Paulo Marko Pacificador, age 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jose Pacificador of Shirley, New York, was killed on August 13, 2007, while serving the United States of America in the hostile action in Qayyarah, Iraq. Posthumously, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. This legislation recognizes the sacrifice this young man made to his country by designating a bridge, located within his hometown, in his name. The provisions of this legislation designate the bridge on the William Floyd Parkway which crosses over State Route 27 in the hamlet of Shirley, NY as the "Cpl. Paulo Marko Pacificador Memorial Bridge".
