Title of bill
An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to authorizing the dormitory authority to construct and finance certain facilities of the Trevor Day School
Purpose or general idea of bill
To enable the Trevor Day School to apply for funding through the dormitory authority for the construction of an athletic facility.
Summary of specific provisions
JUSTIFICATION : In the past, the Trevor Day School has accessed tax exempt financing through the NYC Industrial Development Agency. This law lapsed as of January 30th, 2008, ending that avenue for funding. This legislation would allow the Trevor Day School to be added to the list of eligible institutions for which the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York may, at the Authority's discretion, issue tax exempt bonds for construction purposes.
