Title of bill

An act in relation to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming actions of the Port Washington union free school district with respect to certain building aid contracts

Purpose of bill

To remedy a ministerial filing error on the part of the port Washington Union Free school District in relation to their eligibility for state aid.

Summary of specific provisions

Section 1 provides for the legislative intent on the legislation.

Section 2 legalizes, validates, ratifies and confirms the port Washington Union Free School District's compliance with the requirements set forth so that they shall receive the appropriate state aid previously allotted to them.

Section 3 provides that this act shall take effect immediately.

Justification

The port Washington Union Free School District approved several capital improvement projects through the State Education Department which were deemed eligible for state aid. Due to ministerial error, however, the proper filing for such aid was never accomplished, and thus, the District became ineligible for such aid. This legislation seeks to rectify that situation.
