BILL NUMBER:S7681A
Title of bill
An act to validate certain acts of the Fredonia central school district with regard to a certain capital improvement project
Purpose or general idea of bill
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Fredonia Central School District to receive state aid for a certain approved capital funded project.
Summary of specific provisions
Section 1: Directors that the capital improvement project number 06-2201-06-009-008 is in fact eligible for state aid.
Section 2: Legalizes act pertinent to the project and directs that payment shall be made pursuant to the New York State Education Law.
Section 3: States that the State Education Department is directed to consider the approved cost as valid and proper obligations of the Fredonia Central School District.
JUSTIFICATION The Fredonia Central School District, unfortunately, neglected to file the Final Cost Reports fora building project with the Office of Facility Planning within the established time frame. Requiring the school district to pay back or have it not receive the anticipated state aid for the projects would be devastating to the school district. This legislation would allow the Education Department to consider the final cost report legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed.
Prior legislative history
Formerly, S.868-A of 2009, Vetoed by the Governor.
This legislation will have no fiscal implications for the State since the state aid has already been approved and budgeted.
Effective date
This act shall take effect immediately.
