Title of bill
An act to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway"

Justification
In defending South Korea from the communist aggression of North Korea, 36,940 American soldiers gave their lives, 92,134 troops suffered wounds, and 8,176 military personnel went missing in action. To honor these brave men and women, and all members of the armed forces that served during the Korean War, the Korean War Veterans Association sought the assistance of the New York State Senate and Assembly. Recognizing the importance of this dedication, members of both the Rensselaer County Legislature and Troy City Council unanimously passed resolutions in support of this effort.
