BILL NUMBER:S8140A
Title of bill
An act in relation to authorizing the village of Heuvelton, county of St. Lawrence to transfer ownership of certain parklands to the Heuvelton central school district
Purpose or general idea of bill
This home rule legislation would allow the Village of Heuvelton to transfer a parcel of land that is deemed parkland adjacent to the Heuv- elton School District.
Justification
The school district is making capital improvements and acquisition of this small parcel would enable the construction of a driveway to access a new addition to the school building. The remaining portion of the parcel of parkland will continue to be used for recreational purposes. Because it is recreational and deemed to be parkland, the village of Heuvelton requires legislation to permit the transfer.
