BILL NUMBER:S2211

Title of bill

An act to amend the elder law, in relation to establishing small flexible funds accounts at the local level

Summary of provisions

Creates a new subdivision 8 in section 203 of the Elder Law to authorize a Regrant Program at authorized agencies through the State Office for the Aging within specifically appropriated amounts. The funds may be used only for one-time events or short term needs. The local agencies must apply for and be approved for the funds, and show a Program Summary, Scope of Activity, Staffing and budget, Marketing/Outreach, Selection Process, and an Evaluation.

Justification

The request for greater flexibility is one of the top requests from authorized agencies. The regrant program proposed in this bill is similar to a program provided through the State council on the arts.
