BILL NUMBER:S2951

Title of bill

An act to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation contracts of the Garden City union free school district

Purpose

The purpose of this bill is to legalize transportation contracts for the Garden City School District for the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years.

Summary of provisions

This legislation legalizes transportation contracts for the Garden City school district for the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years. This bill enables the Garden City School District to retain its transportation aid for the aforementioned years.

Justification

This legislation is a special act to authorize the distribution of state transportation aid for certain omitted contracts. Garden City School District had contracts for transportation services, during the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years, which were, inadvertently, not filed to the State Education Department for transportation aid.
