Amends the Administrative Code of the City of New York by adding a new section 19-538. This new section creates a sex crime education program for anyone applying for or renewing a license with the Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Justification
Prostitution along Roosevelt Avenue in Queens has been a problem for decades despite numerous crackdowns by police. Many times, these prostitutes are shuttled unknowingly by taxi cabs and other livery cars. In order to begin to eradicate this problem, it is necessary to raise awareness of the problem among various sectors of the public including cab drivers. This is just one step in the right direction so that one day Roosevelt Avenue can be a modern, thriving, urban commercial district
