Title of bill
An act to authorize the town of Thompson, in the county of Sullivan, to establish a special improvement district to be known as the "Lake Louise Marie dam improvement district"
Purpose of the bill
Authorizes the Town of Thompson to establish the "Lake Louise Marie dam improvement district."
Summary of specific provisions
Section 1: (A) Authorizes the Town of Thompson in Sullivan County to establish a special improvement district to be known as the "Lake Louise Marie dam improvement district" in accordance with the provisions of articles 12 and 12-A of the town law. This district shall be subject to the provisions of such articles which are applicable to water districts.
(B) Provides that the purpose of the Lake Louise Marie dam improvement district shall be to provide for the repair, reconstruction and maintenance of the Lake Louise Marie dam and spillway to prevent dam failure or breach.
(C) Authorizes the Lake Louise Marie dam improvement district to pay for costs of operation through the levy of special assessments upon all lots or parcels of land within such district.
(D) Authorizes the Town of Thompson and the Lake Louise Marie dam improvement district to issue bonds and notes pursuant to the provisions of the local finance law applicable to special improvement districts.
Section 2: Provides that the provisions of this act are severable.
Section 3: Effective Date
