BILL NUMBER:S7021A
Title of bill
An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to authorizing the Monroe County Water Authority to lease and maintain water systems owned by the village of Bloomfield
Summary of provisions
This legislation amends Subdivisions 4, 6 and 7 of section 1096 of the public authorities law, to add the village of Bloomfield to the existing list of municipalities whose water systems can be leased and maintained by the MCWA.
Justification
The Village of Bloomfield would like to explore the opportunity to contract with the Monroe County Water Authority (MCWA) to provide water service to their community. However, the MCWA's current statute does not include the village of Bloomfield. This bill would add the village of Bloomfield to the existing list of municipalities whose water systems can be leased and maintained by the MCWA.
