SENATOR CARLUCCI:Thank you, Mr. President.
I want to thank my colleagues for supporting this legislation. This is sending a strong message to the people of New York State to say our public highways are not a NASCAR racetrack, that if you want to race cars, you go to a private track, to a private club.
This is important legislation to say we're taking a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to drag racing in New York. Unfortunately, we've seen tragic accidents and have spoken to the parents that have lost children at such a young age. We've got to make sure that we take a zero-tolerance policy, and I want to thank my colleagues for supporting this legislation.
Thank you, Mr. President.
ACTING PRESIDENT FARLEY:The Secretary will announce the results.
THE SECRETARY:Ayes, 40.

SENATOR LIBOUS:Thank you, Mr. President.
And, Mr. President and my colleagues, there being no further business, I move that we adjourn until Monday, January 23rd, at 3:00 p.m., intervening days being legislative days.
ACTING PRESIDENT FARLEY:Thank you, Senator Libous.
On motion, the Senate stands adjourned until Monday, January 23rd, at 3:00 p.m., intervening days to be legislative days.
