Purpose
To designate a portion of the interstate highway 990 as the "Staff Sergeant William R. Wilson III Memorial Highway."
Summary

Section 2 directs the commissioner of the department of transportation to provide for "Staff Sergeant William R. Wilson III Memorial Highway" signage and provides that the name designation shall be one of a ceremonial nature.
Section 3 provides the enacting clause.
Justification
This legislation would celebrate the late US Army Staff Sgt. William R. Wilson III, of Getzville, in Erie County, who was killed March 26, 2012, while serving in Afghanistan. Sergeant Wilson was killed in Paktika Province, in Eastern Afghanistan, where he was training Afghan soldiers and police to take over the country's security when the United States withdraws from Afghanistan in 2014.
