BILL NUMBER:S6174
Title of bill
An act to amend chapter 463 of the laws of 2000 relating to authorizing the village of Saugerties to lease the waterfront park land and convey a right of way to the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc., in relation to authorizing such lease and conveyance to the Arm of the Sea Productions, Inc.
Purpose
This bill will re-convey certain rights and leaseholds, originally conveyed in the year 2000, from the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, to Arm of the Sea Productions, Inc.
Summary of provisions
Section 1 amends Section 1 of chapter 463 of the laws of 2000, withdrawing the original conveyance of a right of way from the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, and granting it instead, to the not-for-profit Arm of the Sea Productions, Inc.
Section 2 makes the act effective immediately.
Justification
In 2000, a joint proposal was put forward by the Village of Saugerties and the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater to develop a joint proposal for community-oriented programming. Due to fiscal issues, the program was not completed. The Village has found a new partner, Arm of the Sea Productions, Inc., which will work jointly to develop the area for arts-related programming.
