BILL NUMBER:S6194

Title of bill

An act to authorize approval of certain transportation contracts of the Dansville central school district

Purpose: To authorize approval of certain transportation contracts of the Dansville central school district.

Summary of Provisions:

Section 1 provides that transportation contracts C270724 and C270725 of the Dansville central school district with Livingston-Wyoming ARC are legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed.

Section 2 directs the education department to consider these contracts for transportation aid.

Section 3 provides an immediate effective date.

Justification: This legislation is a special act to authorize the distribution of state transportation aid which was denied by the New York State Education Department to Dansville Central School District. Dansville CSD was denied aid for these contracts based on the premise that they were not advertised or published, yet this was through no fault of Dansville CSD as the contracts were submitted in good faith for publishing in a timely manner. These contracts provide transportation for special needs students.

Legislative History: New bill.

Fiscal Implications: Minimal to the state.

Effective Date: This act shall take effect immediately.
