BILL NUMBER:S7642
Title of bill
An act to amend the correction law, in relation to making technical corrections thereto
Purpose
This bill fixes an incorrect reference to a subdivision in section 500 of the correction law.
Summary of provisions
Section one fixes a technical error in section 500 of the correction law, which governs local correctional facilities, by changing the reference to the definition of a local correctional facility from subdivision fifteen to subdivision sixteen of section 2 of the correction law.
Section two states that this act shall take effect immediately.
Justification
Section 500 of the correction law incorrectly references the wrong subdivision of section 2 of the correction law in regards to the definition of a "local correctional facility." Subdivision sixteen of section 2 of the correction law provides this definition. This bill makes a technical change to section 500 of the correction law to reference the correct subdivision.
