BILL NUMBER:S7741

Title of bill

An act authorizing the village of Massena and the town of Massena to alienate certain parcels of land used as parkland

Purpose

This legislation would authorize the village of Massena and the town of Massena to alienate certain parcels of land.

Summary of provisions

Authorizes the Village of Massena and the Town of Massena to alienate certain parcels of land designated as parkland. Provides that the authorization provided shall only be effective on the condition that the Village and Town of Massena acquire and dedicate lands of equal or greater fair market value as additional parklands of the Village and the Town of Massena.

Justification

The real property at issue in this legislation is located in the Harte Haven Plaza in the Village of Massena and is presently titled to both the Village of Massena and the Town of Massena. The Village and Town desire to have the parcels alienated and will dedicate other lands as parklands which are more suitable for community park usage.
