Title of bill
An act to amend the tax law, in relation to establishing a tax credit for certain fishing and hunting fees paid by members of the United States armed forces in active service
Purpose or general idea of bill
This act establishes that state residents who are members of the US armed forces in active service may claim a tax credit for any fees paid for hunting and or fishing licenses, privileges, tags, and permits issued pursuant to title seven of article eleven of the EnCon law.
Summary of specific provisions
Section 1 establishes that state residents who are members of the US armed forces in active service may claim a tax credit for any fees paid for hunting and or fishing licenses, privileges, tags, and permits issued pursuant to title seven of article eleven of the EnCon law.
Section 2 is the effective date.
Justification
This act would enable certain state residents to receive a tax credit paying certain license fees, based on their military service to the state, their age, and/or recognized tribal affiliation. They deserve the small assistance and opportunity for relaxation and pleasure that a free or reduced hunting or fishing license will provide. Similarly, our active armed forces personnel and members of the state militia deserve equal recognition for their dedication and service to our country and the freedom and personal liberties we enjoy because of their service and protection.
