Authorizes the use and training of dogs for the hunting of bear.
Summary of provisions

Section 2: Amends subdivision 2 of section 11-0923 as amended by chapter 312 of the laws of 1980 and amends subdivision 6 of section 11-0923 as amended by chapter 600 of the laws of 1993.

Justification
Currently New York State law allows for dogs to be used for small game hunting but does not allow for dogs to be used for the hunting of bear. However, it is legal to train a dog for the hunting of bear in New York. This legislation authorizes the use of dogs for the hunting of bears. There are sixteen other states that allow the use of dogs for the hunt- ing of bear.
