Title of bill
An act to amend the education law, in relation to the location of service centers for independent living

Summary of provisions
Section 1. This bill amends subdivision 3 of section 1124 of the education law to expand the location an independent living service center in permitted to operate to anywhere within Suffolk County.
Section 2. Effective Date.
Justification
Due to its original enabling legislation, the Suffolk County Independent Living Organization (SILO) is limited in its location to the Town of Brookhaven with a satellite center in Central Islip.
