Title of bill

An act relating to renaming the Robert Moses Parkway in Niagara county as the Niagara Scenic Parkway

Purpose or general idea of bill

This legislation renames the Robert Moses Parkway located in Niagara County as the Niagara Scenic Parkway.

Summary of specific provisions

Section 1 renames the Robert Moses Parkway as the Niagara Scenic Parkway.

Section 2 provides for the installation and maintenance of adequate signing of the highway system as such.

Section 3 is the effective date.

Justification

Originally known as the Niagara Parkway the Robert Moses Parkway is an 18.42 mile highway located in Niagara County. Since its creation the parkway has changed multiple times, originally one continuous parkway, a portion of the parkway near Niagara Falls was removed due to low usage. The Robert Moses Parkway is not a very travelled parkway and recently further sections of it were removed to provide parkland and access to Niagara Falls creating a more scenic parkway.
