Title of bill

An act in relation to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming actions of the Mattituck-Cutchogue union free school district with respect to certain building aid contracts

Purpose

To allow the Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School District to receive state aid for contracts 0001-001, 0007-001 and 0001-002 that have been held up due to a ministerial filing error.

Summary of provisions

The bill would allow the State Education Department to accept Final Cost Reports for projects in the Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD and process the aid applications.

Justification

The contracts in question represent approximately 1 million dollars in aid to the school district. The sole impediment to obtaining the aid is the late filing of Final Cost Reports which occurred through a ministerial error. This bill allows SED to continue the claims process.
