An act in relation to authorizing the town of Brookhaven to transfer ownership of certain parklands to SMW Property Holdings

Purpose

To authorize the transfer of certain parkland in the town of Brookhaven for other lands adjacent to an existing parkland and for other consideration.

Summary of provisions

This bill would allow the Town of Brookhaven to convey a vacant parcel of property on route 25A in Rocky Point in exchange for property located on Echo Avenue which is adjacent to an existing park.

Justification

The property which the town of Brookhaven presently owns is on Route 25A and although designated as parkland, is not conducive to park purposes. The parcel to be acquired is adjacent to and can be added to the existing park.
