Title of bill
An act granting retroactive tier IV membership in the New York state and local employees' retirement system to Ryan L. Dickerson
Purpose
This bill gives Tier IV status to Ryan L. Dickerson, who through no fault of his own did not become a member of the New York State and local employees' retirement system in 2009, when he began employment.
Justification
Ryan L. Dickerson was appointed to a full-time position with the Village of South Corning on September 24, 2009 and has continuously worked for the Village since that time. Through no fault of his own, Ryan L. Dickerson was not offer membership in the New York state and local employees' retirement system at the time he commenced employment. Based upon his date of membership, Ryan L. Dickerson is currently a Tier V member.
This legislation would authorize Ryan L. Dickerson to become a Tier IV member on the date he first commenced such employment in 2009.
