        COMMEMORATING  the 100th Anniversary of The Gorman
        Group
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  the
achievements  of  those  individuals  and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the  entire
Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of The Gorman Group; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In 1917, The Gorman Group was founded by Albert and Walter
Gorman during The Great Depression; since its  inception,  the  business
has  stayed  true to their original philosophy that honest, professional
and reliable work is good business; and
 
  WHEREAS, Over the past century, The  Gorman  Group  has  been  under
three  generations of family members; the enduring business is currently
under the luminous leadership of third generation owners, Tony and  Mark
Gorman; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Presently,  The  Gorman  Group  works  in over 30 counties
throughout  the  State  of  New  York,  providing  highway  preservation
processes  to  over  750  counties,  towns,  cities,  villages and state
highways throughout New York, New England and the  Mid-Atlantic  States;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Staying true to its mission, The Gorman Group which is now
located in Albany, Rensselaer, Scotia, Amsterdam and  Clinton  continues
its  steadfast  and unremitting commitment to providing quality and safe
highways to the citizens of this great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is  with  great  pleasure  that  this  Legislative  Body
acknowledges  this  exceptional  business  and  its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident  that  it  will  continue  to
enjoy  the  sparkling  successes  it  has  experienced  thus  far;  now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of The Gorman Group; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Gorman Group.
