        AN ACT to amend the correction law, in  relation  to  private  probation
          companies
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The correction law is amended by adding a new  section  209
     2  to read as follows:
     3    §  209.  Private  probation  companies. No person, partnership, corpo-
     4  ration, association or  other  business  entity  shall  provide  private
     5  probation  services  within  the state. As used in this section the term
     6  "private  probation  services"  shall  mean  community  supervision,  as
     7  defined  in  section two of this chapter, for which the supervised indi-
     8  vidual is charged a mandatory fee.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
