What's happening

This bill requires the state to provide veterans with information on where to get help for military sexual trauma, including online resources.

Why it matters

  1. Addresses a critical gap. by ensuring veterans are proactively informed about available resources specifically for military sexual trauma (MST), which is often underreported and under-addressed within the veteran community.

  2. Improves access and navigation. by mandating clear and centralized online information, making it easier for veterans to identify local VA facilities and support tailored to MST, potentially reducing confusion and barriers to seeking help.

  3. Signals state-level recognition. of MST as a significant mental health issue for veterans, which may help reduce stigma, encourage more veterans to come forward, and prompt further policy or funding actions in support of affected individuals.
