What's happening
This bill makes it illegal for unauthorized individuals to use safety strobe lights to change traffic signals, with exceptions for emergency and law enforcement personnel.
Why it matters
Prevents private individuals from manipulating traffic lights. this helps maintain the intended flow of traffic and ensures that only authorized vehicles can override traffic signals for public safety purposes.
Reduces potential for misuse and public safety risks. unauthorized use of strobe lights to change signals could create dangerous situations, such as unexpected green lights or traffic confusion, potentially leading to accidents.
Clarifies legal exceptions for emergency and law enforcement personnel. by specifying these exceptions, the law ensures that police, fire, and other emergency responders can still use this technology when necessary to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
