Why it matters

Reduces the risk of income loss for reservists and National Guard members employed by the state or local governments. , which can encourage more public workers to fulfill military commitments without fear of financial hardship.
Could improve military readiness and morale among public employees who serve. , since they know the state acknowledges and supports their dual roles, potentially leading to higher retention rates in both public employment and military service.
