What's happening
This bill requires physician profiles on the Department of Health website to be updated at least every 90 days and available in multiple languages.
Why it matters
More frequent updates (every 90 days) to physician profiles mean that information about medical misconduct and malpractice will be more current and reliable for patients making healthcare choices.
Making profiles available in multiple languages increases accessibility, helping non-English speakers better understand doctors’ backgrounds and make informed decisions about their care.
The change shifts responsibility onto the Department of Health to ensure timely updates, rather than waiting for physicians to submit changes, potentially reducing outdated or missing information.
By improving transparency and language access, the bill could enhance trust between patients and providers—especially in diverse communities where language barriers or concerns about provider accountability are common.
