What's happening
This bill extends certain managed care consumer and provider protections through June 30, 2019.
Why it matters
Two-year extension. Moves the expiration date for three sections of a 2007 law from June 30, 2017, to June 30, 2019.
New York managed care. Keeps certain protections for consumers and providers under managed care contracts in place rather than letting them expire.
Timing, not substance. Takes effect immediately and changes the expiration date without rewriting the underlying protections.
