What's happening

This bill expands allowed uses for certain state land in Greene County to include a 911 backup call center, sheriff administration, and a solar field.

Why it matters

  2. The inclusion of a solar field specifically for the correctional facility and 911 center could reduce operational costs and improve energy resilience. , potentially lowering taxpayer burden and providing a backup power source during outages or emergencies.

  3. Allowing on-site mitigation measures signals an effort to address environmental or logistical challenges proactively. , possibly making the site safer, more sustainable, or more adaptable to future needs related to public safety infrastructure.
