What's happening

This resolution limits guest introductions in the Assembly chamber to two minutes and prohibits members from advocating legislation during introductions.

Why it matters

  1. Reduces time spent on guest introductions,. ensuring Assembly proceedings are more focused and efficient by capping each introduction at two minutes.

  2. Prevents the use of guest introductions as a platform for political advocacy,. reinforcing the separation between ceremonial duties and legislative debate.

  3. Promotes fairness and consistency,. as all members are now clearly subject to the same time and content restrictions when introducing guests, limiting potential for grandstanding or unequal treatment.
