This resolution honors Peter Eugene Pettit posthumously for his military service, recognizing him at Albany County's Honor-A-Veteran Ceremony.

Why it matters

  1. Highlights the importance of local, ongoing recognition for veterans. By honoring Peter Eugene Pettit at a regular county ceremony, the resolution underscores the value of sustained local efforts to remember and celebrate veterans, not just during national holidays but as part of community life.

  2. Connects military service to lifelong community involvement. The resolution notes Pettit's post-service contributions—including his work, organizational memberships, and church involvement—demonstrating how veterans continue to shape their communities after their military careers.
