This resolution congratulates Barbara Michalski for receiving the National Grid Coordinated Community Response Award by Unity House.
Why it matters
Highlights the importance of community advocacy. Recognizes Barbara Michalski’s long-term commitment to helping vulnerable populations, including those living in poverty, with disabilities, or facing crises like domestic violence, which underscores the need for strong community advocates in public and private sectors.
Emphasizes corporate responsibility. By honoring a utility company employee for her outreach and support of at-risk customers, the resolution draws attention to the significant role corporations and their employees can play in addressing social issues and supporting those in need beyond their business functions.
Showcases cross-sector collaboration. Michalski’s involvement with local disaster response, long-term care, and charitable organizations demonstrates the impact of individuals who bridge different sectors (business, non-profit, and government) to create more comprehensive safety nets for the community.
Inspires civic engagement. The resolution serves as a public example of how individual dedication and volunteerism can lead to meaningful recognition, potentially motivating others to contribute their skills and time to community service.
