What's happening

This resolution honors Police Records Clerk Fran Andriano for receiving the Chief's Achievement Award for her role in safely returning a missing person.

Why it matters

  1. Highlights the critical role of civilian police staff. By recognizing a records clerk rather than a sworn officer, this resolution draws attention to the important contributions of non-uniformed employees in ensuring public safety and successful police operations.

  2. Underscores the importance of vigilance and community involvement. The incident demonstrates how attentiveness and willingness to act—even while off-duty—can have life-saving consequences, emphasizing the value of everyday citizens being alert and proactive.

  3. Raises awareness about vulnerable populations. The resolution brings focus to the risks faced by individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and the importance of community and law enforcement cooperation in protecting at-risk residents.

  4. Promotes public trust in law enforcement. Publicly honoring acts of compassion and initiative helps build stronger relationships between the police department and the community, reinforcing the idea that law enforcement is composed of individuals dedicated to the welfare of all citizens.
