Senate Resolution No. 369 BY: Senator LARKIN HONORING Jennifer Sandoval upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jennifer Sandoval upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 19th Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and WHEREAS, A senior at John S. Burke Catholic High School, Jennifer Sandoval is a member of the Red Tail Youth Flying Program; she plans to attend Farmingdale State College to study aeronautical science and pursue a career in aviation; and WHEREAS, After coming to the United States from Mexico as a child, Jennifer Sandoval has overcome much adversity; she credits the inspiring life of Amelia Earhart for her drive to pursue her dream of becoming a pilot; and WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Jennifer Sandoval has displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled; and WHEREAS, Jennifer Sandoval, in achieving this academic honor, may take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Jennifer Sandoval upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Jennifer Sandoval.
