What's happening

This resolution commemorates the 26th anniversary of SHAI and recognizes its contributions to the Persian Jewish community.

Why it matters

  1. Highlights SHAI’s role in fostering community partnerships. the resolution details SHAI’s collaborations with local governments, schools, synagogues, and nonprofits, underlining how such networks can strengthen both the Persian Jewish community and broader society.

  2. Recognizes substantial educational support. SHAI’s provision of need-based scholarships to over 1,000 students in the U.S. and Israel demonstrates the organization’s tangible impact on upward mobility and educational opportunity within the community.

  3. Underscores SHAI’s community enrichment programs. by noting SHAI’s wide range of activities (environmental forums, health seminars, cultural events, senior programming), the resolution affirms the importance of holistic community engagement and cultural preservation.

  4. Serves as a model for civic recognition. the act of formally commemorating SHAI’s anniversary signals the value of honoring community organizations that combine cultural heritage with service, potentially encouraging similar recognition for other minority and immigrant groups.
