What's happening

This resolution commends Jeffrey Dupoux for receiving the New York State Senate Liberty Medal for his heroic rescue actions.

Why it matters

  1. Highlights the critical role of off-duty first responders. the resolution underscores how ordinary citizens, especially trained volunteers like Jeffrey Dupoux, can make life-saving interventions even when not officially on duty, reminding the public of the value of widespread emergency training.

  2. Celebrates community service and heroism. by publicly commending Dupoux, the resolution reinforces societal values around civic duty, bravery, and selfless action, potentially inspiring others to volunteer or act in emergencies.
