AN ACT in relation to requiring that nursing home patients who have previously tested positive for COVID-19 shall produce a negative test result before he or she can be readmitted to such nursing home
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, a nursing home resident who has been admitted to a hospital as a result of testing positive for COVID-19 shall not be readmitted to such nursing home unless such resident submits to retesting for COVID-19 by a licensed medical professional and can produce a negative test result, irrespective of whether such resident's COVID-19 symptoms have subsided.
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
