What's happening

This bill creates a commission to study Adirondack forest preserve management and inventory selected lands.

Why it matters

  1. Targeted review. Covers Adirondack forest preserve lands with administrative buildings, historic or pre-1968 buildings, or no state land master plan classification.

  2. Advisory role. The commission would identify altered sites and infrastructure needing rehabilitation, remediation or removal, but would not authorize that work.

  3. Required inventory. A report due December 31, 2021, would document properties, management plans, boundaries, natural and historic resources, and infrastructure.
