Standardizes access and procedures. across all types of schools (public, charter, private, and BOCES), reducing disparities in how students receive voter registration information and applications.
Removes academic pressure. by explicitly prohibiting making voter registration a graded assignment or course requirement, supporting student autonomy and protecting against coercion.
Encourages collaboration. between schools, local boards of elections, and outside organizations, potentially leading to more effective outreach and increased youth voter participation through shared resources and expertise.
