AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring local veterans' service agencies to provide information to the division of veterans' services on an annual basis
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. Subdivision 24 of section 353 of the executive law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2019 amending the executive law relating to the listing of county and city veterans' service agencies, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.2405 and A.4413, is amended to read as follows:
24. To maintain a listing on the division's website of the local veterans' service agencies established pursuant to section three hundred fifty-seven of this article with the name, location, hours of operation and contact information of each county and city veterans' service agency. The division shall also provide this information in its annual report to the governor and the legislature as required pursuant to subdivision eleven of this section. Information under this subdivision shall be [maintained and] provided to the division by each local veterans' service agency and shall be updated annually.
§ 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2019 amending the executive law relating to the listing of county and city veterans' service agencies, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.2405 and A.4413, takes effect.

Purpose
This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to provisions of L.2019, c.453.
Summary of provisions
This legislation amends the underlying chapter by requiring local veter- ans' services agencies to provide to the Division of Veterans' Services (DVS) information regarding local veterans' services agencies. The existing chapter does not require that local veterans' services agencies proactively provide such information to DVS.
Justification
Pursuant to approval memo 9 of 2019, the Executive expressed concerns that DVS does not have the information required of the legislation. Therefore, an amendment is necessary to ensure local veterans' services agencies provide this information to DVS.
